Message to a former client
Get back in touch with a client you haven't worked with in a while: a real reason, what's new and a gentle offer.
What it is
Winning back a former client is usually easier than finding a new one: they already know how you work. The template only works if the reason is real: news about the client's company, a new service, the right season. There are two versions: one for email and a short one for a text or DM.

FOR EMAIL
SUBJECT: [Name], an idea for [their project]
Hi [Name],
We worked together [when] on [project]. I'm writing because [a real reason: news about your company / I now offer a service that fits your situation / the season is starting when you usually ...].
Since then, I [what's new: a service, an approach, a result for a similar client].
For you, that could mean: [one benefit that fits their situation].
If you're interested, I can send a one-page breakdown, or we can hop on a 15-minute call. If it's not relevant, no worries, just let me know.
How are things going with [something from your past work]?
[Your name]
FOR A TEXT OR DM
Hi [Name], it's [your name]. We worked together on [project]. I'm reaching out because [reason]. I now have [what's new], and I think it could help with [their task]. Want me to send a short breakdown?

HOW TO REFINE THIS WITH AI
"Here's what I know about a former client: [what we did, when, how it ended, why we stopped working together]. Rewrite both messages for them: up to 90 words for email and up to 50 words for a text or DM. The reason has to be real. If there isn't one in my details, ask me instead of making one up."Professions it helps

- First email to a potential client · A cold email to someone who doesn't know you: a reason, one useful point, a real example and one simple next step.
- Follow-up without pressure · If they didn't reply: a follow-up that adds something useful instead of "just checking in," plus a short last email.
- Proposal email with a price · A proposal by email: the project in the client's words, what is and isn't included, timing, price and the next step.
