What it is

n8n is an automation platform whose source code is open under the Sustainable Use License (fair-code). You can host the Community Edition on your own server and use it free for internal work. In the cloud, Starter is from €20 a month (2,500 executions) and Pro from €50 (10,000), billed yearly; an execution is one run of a whole workflow, not a single step. There are AI Agent nodes and MCP support. It's harder to get started with than Make or Zapier.
